Reviews of Titanfall 2

Here's something I never revealed about myself until recently. I am an avid gamer. I have been playing video games ever since I was a little kid which began with Sonic on the Sega Genesis. Then from there I was hooked, and I would dedicate my spare time to playing them. But I never really thought much about what games are okay to play or not until I became a believer in Christ. My mom had restrictions on what games I was allowed to play and what games were allowed in the house. But I never thought about what's okay to play from a Christian standpoint until I became a believer. And so I decided to expand my media horizons by reviewing some video games, so that I can do something new and different.

Since I'm such an avid gamer, I play pretty much everything. My favorite kind of games to play would be platformers, first person shooters, RPGs, fighting games, and strategy games. The video game I'm going to review today is a shooter that came out this year on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The video game I'm reviewing today is Titanfall 2.

I finally got to own shooting games when I was 17 years old. Prior to owning an Xbox 360. Of the shooting games I played I had a few all time favorites. Like Halo, Battlefield, and Mass Effect. This year I got an Xbox One and got to try out some of the games in the Xbox One's library of games. One of the new games I played was Titanfall 2. And I gotta say, I was impressed and had a good experience with it. I love giant robots. And the Titanfall series is probably my new favorite shooting series next to Halo and Battlefield.

Titanfall 2 is a game where you customize and control a pilot of your own and also customize and control your own mech. And there are a variety of game modes. My favorite game mode is Attrition, where you increase your score by killing as many pilots and soliders as possible. As you keep playing, you will gain the ability to summon your titan. Your giant mech if you will. Then you can get in your mech to kick some serious tail. As you keep playing matches, you will gain experience to rise up in levels over time, unlocking new abilities, perks, and weapons. And that's all there is to it, since it's a simple multiplayer shooting game.

So could a Christian enjoy this game without any problems? Well especially since this is an M rated game, let's analyze its content. This game is rated M for Blood and Gore, Language, and Violence. As far as I know, the Language is present only in the Campaign mode of Titanfall 2, which was a lacking feature in the first Titanfall. Even then, I believe the language is all used in the context of the heat of an intense moment. As for the violence, it's all in a war context. Just like games like Halo, Call of Duty, and Battlefield. The context of the content in a game is what must be examined when making decisions on what's good to play and what isn't. Games like Grand Theft Auto are games where a life of crime is glorified. And so the violence and language and everything else in those games are all in an immoral context.

But parents, honestly, I beg you, don't let your kids play M rated games. They are too young for those kind of games. Playing online against a kid that's probably under 12 and yet is playing violent games like this is very embarrassing and it will affect the way they turn out in the future. Don't let them play it at such a young age!

So anyway, in conclusion, I'd say older and more mature Christians could play this game. Christians that are at least 17 or maybe 16 years old and are also spiritually mature. But don't let your kids play it. There's a reason why it's rated M, meaning Mature. And I give this game an overall quality rating of 4 out of 5. It's pretty good and one of my favorites that I really enjoy playing once in a while in small doses. If you've got an Xbox One or a Playstation 4 and you enjoy shooting games, give this one a go. You might enjoy it. Especially if you like giant robots. This was Godly Dragon Reviews and Apologetics, and you have a blessed day.
