Initial thoughts on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy is one of my favorite movies. It was one of the few Marvel movies I really enjoyed enough to want to watch it again and again. It had a good mix of lighthearted comedy and serious moments and it had an amazing story and characters. It was an all around great film.

When I heard that a volume 2 of Guardians of the Galaxy was coming out, naturally, I got really excited for the film. I had the pleasure of seeing it at a luxury cinema since I thought it would be really worth it. So did it deliver? First I'll talk about the story.

The story takes place where the first Guardians of the Galaxy left off. In this movie, the guardians of the galaxy are hired by a race called the Sovereign to guard their precious batteries. But then Rocket steals the batteries they were sent to guard, resulting in an all out space battle. After they escape, they discover Peter's father. I don't want to continue explaining the story since it will spoil a lot, but Peter's father is central to all the plot twists and turns in the story. I won't tell you what those are though.

There were some things I didn't like about this film. My only complaint I can really think of is the humor. I thought the humor was too sexual. Granted it's mild and not too raunchy, but it's not the kind of humor I'd want kids to hear. and of course there's the usual swearing like in the first movie, and just about any marvel movies. So I'd say the film is only suitable for teenagers and up. Not for kids because of the humor.

But let's talk about what I really liked about the movie. The story was fantastic. Like I said before, the story has a lot of intriguing twists and turns that will shock you. This movie was just like the first movie where it has great characters, a mix of lighthearted comedy and seriousness, and a great story. It is a story of betrayal, forgiveness, misunderstandings, sacrificial love, and how hard exteriors can show their true colors and vice versa.

Overall, I give it 4 out of 5 stars. I think this film isn't for all families because of the humor. And as for whether or not it's faith supportive, that's indeterminate. I thought this movie was really good and it was just as good as the first movie. I don't see myself ranking it higher or lower than the first one. It just as good and just like the first movie. If you liked the first Guardians of the Galaxy, then I recommend this one. You'll like this one too if you liked the first one. I liked it enough to want to watch it again. Thanks for reading my initial thoughts on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which are subject to change should I see this movie a few more times. This is Ethan the Agapesaurus and thanks for reading this Godly Dragon Review, and you have a blessed day!
